From my hotel in Johor Bharu, Malaysia, i crossed into Singapore for a day of sightseeing and to complete this part of my plan. Riding across the border and over the bridge was quick and easy and apart from the arrival card for Singapore immigration there is no other paperwork needed. As i passed customs, i wondered what Singapore’s legal view on pepper spay was.
Head down to Marina Bay for a late brunch, see the sights, down a couple of Singapore Slings and back to Malaysia by sunset…was the plan before i realized i had left my wallet in the hotel in Malaysia. No Louis Vuitton saddle bags for the scooter this time…
As i headed back to Malaysia in the late afternoon traffic, the petrol warning light on the dash flashed like a time bomb waiting to go off. An empty petrol tank, or even a toll road would have caused issues and being Singapore, a fine would no doubt follow.
I made it back as the sun was setting, relieved my 1st, and last, free international travel was completed.
